11/12/10 - Three rescued from unit fire. Child care centre damaged.

Today, the NSWFB processed 619 reports of incidents across the state. Highlights include:

Firefighters were quickly on scene at a unit fire in Dulwich Hill and were able to contain a fire which had started in a kitchen, creating large volumes of smoke throughout the block of 70 units. Three people were trapped by thick smoke on a floor above the unit fire and were rescued by firefighters. The unit suffered extensive damage.

650 people were evacuated from the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre due to an electrical fire involving stage lighting. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished by firefighters.

A child care centre at Horningsea Park suffered extensive fire damage. Several surrounding houses were evacuated safely during firefighting operations.

Firefighters also attended fires at a shop in Lisarow and an electrical sub station at Russell Vale.

Today Fire Rescue Officers responded to 43 motor vehicle incidents across NSW including serious incidents at Bradbury, St Mary's, Mt Druitt and Illawong.
