There were three residential fires today.

Firefighters were called at 4.45am this morning to a house fire at Towradgi. Crews were on scene within nine minutes and firefighters wearing breathing equipment quickly entered the burning structure. They located two occupants who had collapsed inside the smoke filled house and carried them to safety where they were treated for smoke inhalation and then transported to hospital. It took fifteen firefighters from three surrounding stations about thirty minutes to extinguish the fire. The front section of the house was extensively damaged and the cause of the fire is currently being investigated.

Firefighters also extinguished a fire in the roof of a house at Alfords Point and a fire in a kitchen caused extensive damage to a house at Werris Creek. One occupant was overcome by smoke and required transport to hospital.
