04/11/10 - Two residential fires, caravan and shed destroyed and another milk tanker overturned

Today firefighters attended two residential fires at New Lambton Heights and Warrawong. A caravan was destroyed by fire at Mayfield West and a shed containing a vintage car was destroyed at Orange. Fire crews attended a car into a house at Mereweather.

A tanker containing 20,000 litres of milk overturned on The Bucketts Way near Gloucester, spilling approx 16,000 of milk. Hazmat crews contained and retrieved a large amount of the spillage before it could enter local waterways. This was the second large milk tanker incident attended by fire crews in two days. Yesterday fire crews attended another milk tanker overturned near Gloucester.

Firefighters attended Hazmat incidents at West Tamworth and Kurri Kurri. Crews attended two oil on roadway incidents at Katoomba and Medlow Bath. Fire Rescue officers attended three rescues at Richmond, Orchard Hills and Wallsend. Crews also attended a motor vehicle accident at Doonside involving a truck containing a number of gas cylinders. The incident was rendered safe.
