City of Sydney's diverse jobs

Firefighters on day shift at City of Sydney Fire Station responded to 15 callouts today. One of them was to an alarm call at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in O'Connell St. They responded with a crew from The Rocks and when they arrived they found that a sprinkler head had activated, causing flooding on two levels of the hotel. They were at the scene for a couple of hours assisting in the cleanup of the flooded areas. Later in the afternoon, workers on a floor of the Darling Park Tower in Sussex St noticed a crack in a window grow significantly during the windy day. Concerned that it might fall, they called triple zero (000) and the City of Sydney crews responded. They were able to use the ladder platform to take a glazier to the window so that he could undertake the necessary repairs.
