Motor vehicle accident on Mulgoa Rd

Fire crews from Regentville and St Marys responded to a motor vehicle accident at Mulgoa Rd, Glenmore Park, at about a quarter to four this afternoon. When they arrived they found a large articulated truck on its side. The police and ambulance were already in attendance and the driver was trapped in the truck. Over the next couple of hours the crews performed a variety of tasks. They released the driver utilising their rescue equipment, they cleaned up spilt diesel fuel with absorbent, they decanted the remaining diesel in the fuel tank and provided constant fire protection. Mulgoa Road was closed for several hours and traffic diversions were put in place by police and the RTA. Unfortunately, the driver did not survive the accident.
