Building Fire at Armidale

Fire crews from Armidale responded to reports of a building alight in Allingham St, Armidale, early this morning. Upon arrival, the firefighters discovered a major fire in a heritage listed building of dimensions 40m x 25m that was already threatening the surrounding properties. The firefighters requested assistance and crews from Uralla and Glen Innes responded to the scene. They set up their hoselines to prevent the fire from spreading to the surrounding buildings. This tactic was successful and ensured that only the original building was destroyed by the fire.
