Bedroom fire at Umina

Published: 15th July 2010

Three fire engines and crews from Umina responded to South St, Umina, when a neighbour heard a smoke alarm operating and smelt smoke very early this morning. Upon their arrival, the firefighters discovered a severe fire in a bedroom and quickly started attacking the fire with two hoselines. Their quick actions saw the fire extinguished before it could spread beyond the bedroom. This was one of at least six bedroom fires this week and also featured a side benefit of a smoke alarm. The occupants were out but a neighbour heard it operating. For further information on winter fire safety, visit www.3minutes.com.au
