Warehouse Fire at Canterbury

Just after midnight, fire officers from Campsie and Ashfield responded to a building alight on Canterbury Rd, Canterbury. The first arriving crew discovered a well developed fire in a carpet warehouse that had broken through the roof at the rear of the building. They immediately requested assistance and proceeded to gain entry before starting to extinguish the fire. Other fire crews responded from Lakemba, Burwood, Kogarah and Marrickville. Their prompt actions were able to prevent the fire from totally destroying the warehouse. It was quickly contained and extinguished by 1:30am
