A busy day at Wyong

The firefighters in the Wyong area had a very busy day today. Early this afternoon, crews from Wyong, Berkeley Vale and Hamlyn Terrace responded to a unit alight in Anzac Ave, Wyong. Upon their arrival, the firefighters were confronted with a unit in a two level block that was well alight. The fire was extinguished before it could spread to the surrounding units and one occupant was treated by ambulance personnel for smoke inhalation and conveyed to hospital. This was followed by a house fire in the early evening at Howarth St, Wyong, which resulted in a response from crews from the same stations plus Wyoming. The house was also well alight when crews arrived and required four hose lines to extinguish the fire.
