Unit fire at Kingsgrove

Just before 7 this morning, fire crews from Campsie, Lakemba and Hurstville responded to a unit fire at William St, Kingsgrove. Upon arrival, the fire rescue officers were confronted with a severe fire in a unit. They started attacking the fire while commencing a search for a missing resident. The unconscious man was rescued from the unit before being treated by ambulance personnel and taken to hospital. The fire was extinguished with three hose lines and two other residents were also treated for smoke inhalation.
