House fires in Bronte and Walgett

22 firefighters from 5 stations were called to a fire on the top floor of a 3 storey house in Bronte at 3.00am. The fire was extinguished and contained to the top floor, though there was smoke and water damage to other parts of the house. At 6.45am a house in Walgett was destroyed by fire. Neighbours rescued the 4 occupants, and the fire crew from Walgett extinguished the fire with 4 hoselines, whilst protecting the house next door from the flames.
