Building fire closes Hume Highway

At 9.36pm on Saturday night firefighters were called to a building fire in Brunker Rd at Chullora. Bankstown firefighters were on scene within six minutes and reported fire had taken hold of a single level building. There were fears someone was trapped inside and fire crews conducted a quick search of the burning structure. Fortunately no one was trapped inside. Twelve fire trucks attended the fire which took around two hours to extinguish. The Hume Highway was closed to all traffic to enable firefighters to access fire hydrants to extinguish the blaze. One building which was used as an office for a bus transport company together with one coach were destroyed by the fire which is currently under investigation.
