Casula - House destroyed

This afternoon a house and all its contents were totally destroyed by fire. The Fire Brigade received the first of several Triple Zero calls at 3.40 pm to reports of an explosion and house fire in Bottlebrush Avenue at Casula. When the fire crew from Horningsea Park arrived they reported that the 10 x 15 metre fibro cottage was totally involved in fire. Other fire crews from Warragamba, Liverpool and the Rural Fire Service (RFS) also attended the incident and took about one and a half hours to extinguish the fire. Two occupants who were in the house when the incident occurred were transported to hospital with burn injuries. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
