Narwee - Guest house fire

Fire crews were called to a fire in a two levelled guest house located on Penshurst Road at Narwee at around 7.47pm this evening. Firefighters from Lakemba were on scene within seven minutes and reported that a large fire had taken hold of the rear of the second floor. Additional crews from Riverwood, Campsie and Kogarah attended the scene and were able to contain the fire to two rooms on the top floor. It took twenty firefighters about one hour to extinguish the fire which caused extensive damage to the building. Fortunately no-one was injured and NSW Fire Brigades Investigators are currently investigating the cause of the blaze.
