Chatswood - House fire

Just after 9.00pm tonight fire crews were called to reports of a house fire on Mowbray Rd at Chatswood, near the intersection of Holland Street. Firefighters from Willoughby Fire Station were quickly on scene within five minutes and reported that the roof of the two level house was fully involved in fire. Twenty firefighters from Willoughby, Lane Cove, Crows Nest, Neutral Bay and Forestville Fire Stations responded to the blaze which took about ninety minutes to bring under control and extinguish. A large section of the roof collapsed into the house causing extensive damage. No injuries occurred and the cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
