School fire at North Albury

Fire rescue officers from Albury Central and Albury North responded to a school fire at Kandeer Special School, Fallon St, North Albury just after 3:30am. Upon arrival, the crews found the administration building for the school was well alight and in danger of spreading to surrounding buildings. They responded by quickly and successfully setting up their hoses to ensure that the fire did not spread to those surrounding buildings. The fire rescue officers were able to extinguish the majority of the fire within an hour but it still took several hours to completely extinguish it.
