Fatal house fire in Belmont

At 12.53am yesterday, the NSW Fire Brigades (NSWFB) was called to a house fire in Belmont.
Firefighters from Belmont and Tingira Heights were on the scene within six minutes and quickly extinguished the blaze.
A neighbour forced his way into the property and helped an elderly resident trapped inside the blaze. Sadly, the woman later died in hospital from her injuries.
Investigations by NSWFB investigators and NSW Police have now confirmed the fire was accidental in nature and not in any way related to roofing insulation.
