Truck fire at Denham Court

Published: 25th February 2010

Peak hour traffic on the Hume Highway was severely disrupted when a southbound B double truck caught alight at Denham Court this morning. Fire rescue officers from Ingleburn, St Andrews, Macquarie Park, Campbelltown and Horningsea Park were called to the fire at 06:41am and encountered a truck that was totally involved in fire. The crews utilised foam as they extinguished the fire and they were assisted by local RFS tankers who were able to provide water to the NSWFB engines. A bulk supply of sand was required to clean up the diesel spill and fire rescue officers stayed at the scene for the rest of the morning to provide fire protection while RTA crews removed the truck.
