Fire at Cessnock City Bowling Club

Fire rescue officers responded to a building fire at Cessnock City Bowling Club, Abedare Rd at 2:10am on Monday 22 February. The first arriving crews from Cessnock found the building to be totally involved in fire and immediately started fighting it with hoselines. Over thirty fire rescue officers from six surrounding fire stations were called to the incident and took more than three hours to extinguish the blaze. The Bowling Club was severely damaged by the fire and investigations into the cause are continuing.
