Fletcher - House destroyed

At 8.52am on Wednesday 17 February 2010, Fire Rescue Officers responded to a single level house on fire in Sandalwood Avenue, Fletcher. Crews from Wallsend, Minmi, Mayfield West and Newcastle attended the incident and took forty minutes to extinguish the fire. The house and contents were extensively damaged by the blaze. One firefighter suffered heat stress and was conveyed to hospital and has since been released. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
