House Fire - Mt Riverview

A house was extensively damaged by fire on Sunday 27 December 2009 in Marshall Rd at Mt Riverview in the Blue Mountains. Fire Rescue Officers from Glenbrook and Regentville were called at 6.07am on Sunday morning and when they arrived, large volumes of smoke could already be seen coming from the two level house. It took two and a half hours to bring the fire under control and extinguish the fire which destroyed half the house and most of the building contents. Two people who were inside the house escaped with some injuries including minor burns and smoke inhalation and were taken to hospital for further treatment. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
