Fatal tanker vehicle accident and fire - Princes Highway

NSWFB Fire and Rescue Officers were called to a tragic vehicle accident involving a fuel tanker and several cars on the Princes Highway, East Lynne, at 4.51pm on Monday 28 December 2009. The fuel tanker had veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided with several vehicles. By the time fire crews arrived on scene, fire had already engulfed the truck and several vehicles. Three people were killed in the accident and several others were taken to hospital with injuries. The Princes Highway was closed to all traffic throughout the night with fire crews assisting with lighting and clean up operations. NSWFB Crews from Bateman's Bay and Ulladulla and four RFS crews attended the scene.
