Hazmat Incident - Beresfield

Fire Rescue Officers from Newcastle, Hamilton, Maitland, Minmi and Tarro attended a small fire in an above ground vat containing cleaning liquids at a chemical factory in Beresfield on Tuesday 22 December. Sixty staff and surrounding workers were evacuated from the area due to dangerous fumes as Hazmat crews worked to neutralise and clean up the substance.
