Fire in Cumberland Hospital

Firefighters from Wentworthville, Northmead and Parramatta responded to an automatic fire alarm at Cumberland Hospital this evening. On arrival, they discovered that there was a fire in one of the wards with staff already evacuating the occupants. The crews were able to quickly attack the fire with hoses and extinguish it before it could spread. Firefighters then utilised equipment to expel the smoke from the building. Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze.
