Rescue at Sunnyholt Rd, Parklea

Firefighters from Kellyville, Blacktown and Schofields responded to a car overturned at Sunnyholt Rd, Parklea. Upon arrival, they found a car upside down on a roof of a house. There was one person still in the car - the other occupant had released himself and was sitting on the roof. This marked the start of a complex rescue operation that necessitated the shoring up of the house before firefighters could release the person from the car Both the driver and passenger were given first aid on the roof before being removed to the ground by a technique called the “ladder slide”.
