House fire Cessnock

This evening firefighters from Cessnock and Bellbird responded to a house on fire in Wollombi Rd, Cessnock. Firefighters arrived within eight minutes to find a house well alight. Firefighters from Kearsley and Duty Commander Maitland were responded to assist. All people from the house were accounted for as the firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire. During firefighting operations an elderly bystander suffered chest pains. Firefighters rendered first aid until the arrival of the ambulance officers. Damage to the house was contained to approximately 30% of the building.
