Unit fire Pitt St Sydney

This afternoon firefighters from City of Sydney, Darlinghurst, Pyrmont and Glebe responded to a unit on fire in Pitt St, Sydney. Firefighters arrived within three minutes to find a fire in a residential unit on the twenty fifth storey. Approximately fifty people were evacuated from the building as firefighters extinguished the fire, which had started on a balcony. Pitt St was closed to traffic for the safety of the firefighters. Swift action by the firefighters ensured that the damage from the fire was kept to a minimum.
