Heathcote Rd bus crash

This morning, firefighters from Engadine, Sutherland, Menai and Liverpool responded to a motor vehicle accident (MVA) involving a school bus and a car on Heathcote Rd, Lucas Heights. A very challenging and chaotic scene greeted the arriving firefighters, as up to 40 school children were on the bus at the time of the accident. Two people were also trapped in the car. Tragically the driver of the car died in the accident. A large scale casualty triage was embarked on by the Ambulance Service, as firefighters worked on releasing the passenger of the car. Heathcote Rd is likely to be closed for most of the day.
