MVA and fire F3 Freeway

Late this evening firefighters from Kariong and Gosford responded to an motor vehicle accident with car on fire on the F3 Freeway at Calga. On arrival the firefighters have found an accident involving a B-Double truck and two cars. One of the cars and the B-Double were on fire. The RFS were responded to assist with firefighting and the supply of bulk water. A NSWFB hazardous materials unit (Hazmat) from Berkeley Vale was also responded as the nature of the cargo on the truck was not known. The load on the truck was later deemed not to be dangerous. The Hazmat unit remained at the scene to monitor the fire water runoff. The fire was brought under control and it was discovered that tragically three people had died in one of the cars. Police investigators are investigating the accident.
