Grass fire Blairmount

Early this afternoon firefighters from Campbelltown responded to a grass fire next to the Hume Highway at Blairmount. High visibility to passing motorists of this fire generated a total of 41 Triple Zero calls. Soon after arrival, firefighters called for more resources as there was potential for this fire to impact on properties in the area. Strong winds were hampering the extinguishment of the fire. Firefighters from Rosemeadow and Narellan responded to assist. Firefighters from the RFS were also brought in to assist. The fire was extinguished by the middle of the afternoon. No property was damaged and firefighters were able to contain the fire to one hectare of grasslands.
