House fire Toongabbie

This morning firefighters from Seven Hills, Wentworthville and Blacktown were responded to a house fire in Cornelia Rd, Toongabbie. Firefighters arrived within six minutes to find smoke coming from a single storey house. Reports from neighbours indicated that a person could still be inside the house. After forcing entry to the house they located an elderly lady in one of the rooms. Firefighters removed her to safety and commenced first aid prior to the arrival of the ambulance service. The lady was transported to hospital suffering burns and smoke inhalation. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one room, with the remainder of the house being damaged by smoke.
