Fatal house fire Goulburn

This evening firefighters from Goulburn responded to a house alight in Sloane St, Goulburn. Firefighters quickly arrived nine minutes after the Triple Zero call to find a house well alight. Extra resources were responded from Moss Vale and the RFS. Reports were received from neighbours that a person could still be inside. Two crews of firefighters entered the house immediately to carryout a search and commence extinguishing the fire. A male person was found in the house and removed to a waiting ambulance. Tragically the man was later confirmed deceased at hospital. Three police officers were treated for smoke inhalation after they attempted a rescue prior to the arrival of the NSWFB. Fire investigators are at the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
