Unit fire in Neutral Bay

Early this afternoon crews from Neutral Bay and Crows Nest responded to a unit fire in Barry St, Neutral Bay. Firefighters arrived within three minutes to find a top floor unit in a two level block well alight. Crews commenced an aggressive internal fire attack to extinguish and prevent the fire spreading to other units. Approximately 50 occupants were safely evacuated. Firefighters experienced extreme conditions combating the fire as it had spread to the common roof area. The fire was extinguished within 35 minutes and the occupants were allowed back in their units. Crews from Mosman, Lane Cove, Willoughby and the Inspector from Crows Nest assisted at the fire. Investigations are still continuing to determine the cause of the fire.
