House fire in Wollongong

Early this morning crews from Warrawong, Unanderra, Wollongong and Dapto responded to a house fire in Merrett St Cringila. Firefighters arrived within seven minutes to find the front section of a single level house well alight. Five people from the house had safely evacuated themselves. Firefighters were quick to contain the fire to the front section and extinguish the fire. Fire and Police investigators are determining the cause and origin of the fire. NSW Fire Brigades K9 detection dog Winna has been called to assist with the investigation.
