House fire in East Killara

This evening firefighters were called to a house fire in Albany Cr East Killara. Firefighters from Willoughby, Forestville, Gordon, Lane Cove, Hornsby and Ryde arrived within eight minutes to find a two level house fully involved with fire through the roof. Firefighters managed to contain the fire to the top level and a search revealed two persons self evacuated, with one person suffering smoke inhalation. Ambulance officers treated the male occupant on scene, who was later transported to hospital for further observation. The fire was extinguished with two fire engines and six hose lines. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
