Early this evening firefighters were called to a gas and water leak on Victoria Road, Bellevue Hill which caused subsidence of the roadway, creating a hole approx 20mx30m. Firefighters from Bondi, Woollahra, specialist hazmat firefighters from Alexandria and the Duty Commander attended the scene. The hazmat crews took atmospheric readings to check that the area was safe. No evacuations were required with residents advised to remain in their properties.
