Switch Room Fire Sydney

This evening the NSWFB responded to an automatic fire alarm in a building on Elizabeth Street, Sydney. Firefighters from The Rocks, City of Sydney, Pyrmont and Darlinghurst were on scene in minutes to find a fire on the basement level of the thirteen level building. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were able to contain and extinguish the fire a switch room in an hour. After extinguishing the blaze firefighters ventilated the heavily smoke logged building and conducted air monitoring to ensure the area was safe before fire crews handed over the incident to the building management.
